Greening of the airstrip, Toulouse Aérospace

Toulouse Métropole wishes to transform the former airstrip of the Montaudran airfield into a 700 m. long planted stroll. This new urbain forest will provide shade et purposes along the route from the Halle de la Machine to the University park at the south of the ZAC.

The different oak and pine species come from the forest of Occitania and can adapt to the climate changes of 2050. Several principles of plantation structure this new space: 

Plusieurs principes de plantations structurent ce nouvel espace : the undergrowth coppice, the inaccessible organic reserve, the regular forest, and the fruit reserve. Under those trees,  Sous ces arbres, a low layer of shrubs and ground cover create a shady dry ecosystem.
