Parc de la Piste des Géants, Toulouse Aerospace
Toulouse Métropole wants to transform the former landing strip of Montaudran into a walk planted over 700 meters long. This new urban forest has the function of providing shade and uses along the route between the Machine Hall and the university park in the south of the ZAC.
The different species of oaks and pines come from the forests of Occitanie and can adapt to climate changes in 2050. Several principles of plantations structure this new space: the undergrowth, the inaccessible biological reserve, the regular futaie, and the fruit reserve. Under these trees, a low layer of shrubs and ground coverings create an ecosystem of dry shaded environments.
