Caserne des Minimes, Paris 03

In the context of the historical neighbourhood of Le Marais, the courtyard of the Caserne des Minimes opens up to the public but keeps the characteristics of a closed space.

At the center, a frame of 16 trees reveals the geometry of this square courtyard. A slight slope allows the creation of a stepwell and steps for inhabitants and tourists to sit.

All around, the space is kept free for the studios and shops of the ground floor.
