NPNRU des Couronneries, Poitiers
Designed in the 1960s, the neighborhood was built on a plateau overlooking the city center, between the historic town to the southwest and the agricultural landscape to the northeast. The track gauge and the presence of the automobile, inherited from a functionalist conception, occupy a very important place.
The vast planted spaces give the feeling of a very airy neighborhood even if their uniformity testifies to a banalization of atmospheres and environments. As a result, their appropriation by the inhabitants is low.
The project is designed around 2 axes north-south and east-west that allow residents to move comfortably on foot or by bike while combining recreational uses and break. Over more than 700 meters in length, this large planted promenade distributes housing, equipment and shops with the aim of creating a unifying and central public space according to 4 landscape sequences.
